     Mrs. Monica Vaughan, M.Ed, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Triumphant Scholars Academy, Inc. believes that every child’s learning environment should promote academic excellence and as a result has now forged her 15 years of educational and leadership experience into an evidenced based program.  The Triumphant Scholars Academy, Inc.  program recognizes the hurdles that many children face to win their races over various academic challenges and presents them with an opportunity to yield double-digit gains. With Mrs. Vaughan’s leadership, students are achieving in personalized learning structures with a focus on digital and blending learning.
     

     Mrs. Vaughan, earned her B.A in Sociology from Elizabeth City State University, as well as her Masters of Arts in Education, Administration and Supervision and a Masters of Arts in Special Education from University of Phoenix. She began her career in education in 2001 with Hertford County Public Schools.  There, in Murfreesboro North Carolina, she diligently worked with 6th, 7th and 8th graders forging their appreciation for learning the subjects of Science and Social Studies.  In May 2014, Mrs. Vaughan was awarded an Outstanding Teacher of the Year of Children with Disabilities award. This prestigious accolade recognized her ability to help others transcend perceived boundaries and labels. 
     

     Currently, Mrs. Vaughan is a passionate youth advocate that is a Special Education teacher and transition specialist. Her background in the human services field extends to formerly working for the North Carolina Department of Justice as well as having extensive experience in day treatment programs and community mental health.
